My Little Firefighter

Mike had to get a new helmet because someone ran over his other one with the firetruck. We let Evan try it on though he wasn't too crazy about it, because he doesn't like things on his head.

I haven't had much to post lately. I'm busy Christmas shopping and getting ready for Evan to turn 1! I'm also tired because work has me running and in meetings most days. I hope everyone is doing well. Have a great weekend!

Two of a kind

Katy, Derrick, and Little Derrick snuck into town late Friday night/early Saturday morning. We had plans to visit the Baby Fare and things start early when you are trying to beat all the new and expecting mommies to freebies (By the way, Little Derrick won second place in the crawling race and won Katy $15 at Babies R Us and Evan cried). When the boys woke up, we noticed they were wearing similar outfits. They immediately got re-acquainted.

We had a great mini-Thanksgiving with Mike's family. Mike's Dad and Jackie were here too. (We missed you Heather, Rob, Laney, and Kathryn). We loved having everyone over and can't wait to see you all again in a few weeks.

Check back tomorrow

Katy, Derrick, and Little D are on their way home and Mike's Dad and Jackie just left so we are turning in for the evening. We took tons of pics of Evan and Little D so I will post them tomorrow.

Have a great Turkey Week!

Game Ranch and Random Evan

This past Saturday, Evan and I joined Christina, Cole, and Jeremy at the Yellow River Game Ranch. I'm a Gwinnett County native and had never been there until this visit. We enjoyed it and we will definitely be going again. My camera died so I didn't get many pictures.

Here's a billie goat. He smiled so I took a picture

Evan was very interested in watching Cole feed the animals. When we gave Evan crackers to feed the animals, the crackers went straight into his mouth

And for some other random pictures....

Sometimes, you can't eat just one animal cracker...

you can't play with just one can of play-doh...

and there's always room for one more.

I'll post some Target pics we took a few weeks ago and my Gratitude post later this week. I also have my Tupperware for sale list ready if any of you are interested in some discounted items. My email address is in my About Me page temporarily if you want to contact me for the list.

My Day Off

I had today off because it was Mike's regular work day and Mom (Lola) had a workshop to attend. Evan and I slept in (until 9:00) and got motivated to go out around 1:00 PM. If I were a stay at home mom, I would never get anything done! Cole had a doctor's appointment around 1:00 so Evan and I headed across town and met Cole and Christina at Stonecrest Mall.

As soon as we got into the main part of the mall, there was a huge Christmas tree. We decided to use it for our first photo op. I just can't believe Christmas will be here in another 6 weeks or so.

Evan and Cole spent some quality time in the kiddie area. Here's my little one about to get toppled at the bottom of the weird band-aid slide. Luckily, no kids under 3 feet tall were harmed after this picture was taken.

and then we grabbed dinner at the Ruby Tuesday's. Cole was very helpful in keeping Evan beside the table and occupied.

With these two, everything's funny

PEACE! and Goodnight!

Thanks to Christina and Cole for getting us out of the house today. We had a great time. Cole, you are the best helper when it comes to Evan. He really looks up to you and loves you. You make him laugh and laugh and laugh! We'll see you on Saturday!

Happy Weekend

I've got nothing. We cleaned out the garage today to make room for all of Evan's out grown baby stuff. That means that I now have to unload all of my Tupperware from when I sold the plastic bowls and things. If you are looking for any specific item, I probably have it, and will sell it to you much less than a Tupperware rep will. I'll be compiling an inventory but it may take me a while. There are no less than 10 bags and boxes full of Tupperware.

I hope your weekend was good and I should have something to blog about later this week.

Sometimes you feel like a nut...

Well, Evan wasn't crazy about having a foam head and he didn't feel well but we had a good, low-key Halloween. Evan was asleep by 7:30. We had a doctor's visit plus flu shot today so he was feeling it. I hope everyone else had a great Halloween!

The Distracted Pumpkin Hunter

On Monday, we finally ventured out to the Pumpkin Patch. On advice from Katie and talking to my old roomie, Jenn, we decided to give ole Randy's a shot. It was a pretty happening place for toddlers and babies, so much so that Evan didn't care about Mom or Dad. He was watching all of the other kids. He definitely needs a sibling.

After the short drive there, we opened the car door to find Evan snoozing

and taking a break

with Daddy, not looking at the camera

with Mommy, not looking again

All in all, it was a sucessful venture. We got a nice pumpkin and Evan got his own small one.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Hope for Haiti & the weekend

Friday evening, Mike and I attened the Hope for Haiti Gala at the Gwinnett Marriott. It was a great event hosted by our old church, St. Monica's. Mike still helps out with the medical mission to Haiti so we paid our good money and went to party.

Before we left Evan at Lola's house, we dressed him up in his tux and took a few family pictures. They weren't as good as I planned but we are going to try again at Target later this week or next.

The best picture we took

Next best because everyone was really happy and giggly

Me and my "getting impatient" little man.

I decided to try out my new digital imaging software that we won at the Gala from the silent auction, that's why this pic is black and white. We got a ton of stuff from the silent auction and all the money went back to the mission and people in Haiti. I almost didn't get the software though because someone at the Gala cheated after the silent auction was closed and put a higher bid under my winning bid. I had to tattle and pay more but I got it. You wouldn't expect cheating from the church secretary, would you?

And then Sunday, we went to watch the race at Dad's house and visit.

Time for food. Mike and I both make faces when feeding Evan. You just can't help yourself.

Evan's Hat
