Sometimes you feel like a nut...

Well, Evan wasn't crazy about having a foam head and he didn't feel well but we had a good, low-key Halloween. Evan was asleep by 7:30. We had a doctor's visit plus flu shot today so he was feeling it. I hope everyone else had a great Halloween!

The Distracted Pumpkin Hunter

On Monday, we finally ventured out to the Pumpkin Patch. On advice from Katie and talking to my old roomie, Jenn, we decided to give ole Randy's a shot. It was a pretty happening place for toddlers and babies, so much so that Evan didn't care about Mom or Dad. He was watching all of the other kids. He definitely needs a sibling.

After the short drive there, we opened the car door to find Evan snoozing

the first of many distracted pictures

hunting for the perfect one

and taking a break

with Daddy, not looking at the camera

with Mommy, not looking again

All in all, it was a sucessful venture. We got a nice pumpkin and Evan got his own small one.

Hope for Haiti & the weekend

Friday evening, Mike and I attened the Hope for Haiti Gala at the Gwinnett Marriott. It was a great event hosted by our old church, St. Monica's. Mike still helps out with the medical mission to Haiti so we paid our good money and went to party.

Before we left Evan at Lola's house, we dressed him up in his tux and took a few family pictures. They weren't as good as I planned but we are going to try again at Target later this week or next.

The best picture we took

Next best because everyone was really happy and giggly

Me and my "getting impatient" little man.

I decided to try out my new digital imaging software that we won at the Gala from the silent auction, that's why this pic is black and white. We got a ton of stuff from the silent auction and all the money went back to the mission and people in Haiti. I almost didn't get the software though because someone at the Gala cheated after the silent auction was closed and put a higher bid under my winning bid. I had to tattle and pay more but I got it. You wouldn't expect cheating from the church secretary, would you?

And then Sunday, we went to watch the race at Dad's house and visit.

Time for food. Mike and I both make faces when feeding Evan. You just can't help yourself.

Cat (food) burglar

Evan is getting into everything now. It doesn't seem to matter how high. Here's just a few shots of him on top of the step stool he climbed and getting into the cat's food.

Light the Night 2007

This weekend was the big Light the Night Walk to fight blood cancers. Thanks to you, I helped raise over $500 (through t-shirts at work and donations) and the Northside team raised over $15,000! It was by far one of the most fun and memorable walks I have ever taken part in.

Here's Evan in his warm weather clothes just after we arrived at Centennial Olympic Park. Those bracelets on his chubby thighs are glow bracelets.

I loved this picture and the next so much that I couldn't decide which one to post, so you get to see both. This was a true family event and Lola came along too!

Evan took part in all of the festivites; dancing and eating peanut butter crackers (I didn't even think not to give him PB until after he was chowing down. He seems to be fine though, no allergy problems here).

I'm pointing at the camera so Evan would look. I don't put that many pics of myself on here so I threw another one in.

Getting his fiber - eating the grass

and when we turned Evan loose, he found a new friend, this funky mutt in the sweater. He laughed at this dog so much

and gave him some love

Video from the start of the walk. The pictures didn't turn out at all. Everyone had a flickering balloon, red for supporters, white for survivors, and gold for the people that lost their battle with cancer.

On Sunday, I was a slacker. I forgot the camera when we went to Andy and Brandi's Baby Shower/Party. They are due to have their second baby boy in about 6 weeks so we gave them a few necessites. Evan had a great time playing with some cute little girls and I had no camera.

After we came home, Mike and I (but mostly Mike) cleaned up the yard at the house. Evan slept most of the time. When he woke up, he came outside. I had to make a play pen in a hurry so here you have my invention. Who says you can only use baby pools for swimming?

We hope you all had a fantastic weekend and thank you to everyone who supported me on my walk! Maybe next year, some of you can join me!

Week in review

We've been home since Tuesday evening and we are still recovering. Evan has been sleeping better since we've been home but he is having teething issues so our schedule isn't perfect. I've been tired and lazy so therefore, I haven't posted. Here are some pics from our trip and this weekend.

"Rain, rain, go away...."
It rained 3 out of the 4 days we were in Minneapolis. It didn't make going places much fun. We did manage to see the Mississippi River and the Mall of America though. Sorry, I didn't take more pictures. I guess after going for 5 years, it all seems the same to me.

Here's Evan holding the room key hostage while he enjoys the bed. He thought the bed was much better than the hotel crib.

In the shuttle from the airport to the car. He was so excited to be back in Georgia and going home, just like his Mom and Dad were.

Saturday, Mom, Evan, and I walked in the Step Out to Fight Diabetes Walk at Grant Park. It was hot! Here's a pic of Evan and his Lola just before the start.

Today, at my dad's house. Evan wore his new shirt that Grandpa had made for him with the company logo (Hart Fence) and took a nap on the armchair. Thanks Grandpa!

and I leave you with Evan and PJ before bed. Lola put PJ together from a kit I bought, but I'm not skilled enough to make it look this good. I wanted Evan to have a sock monkey though and now he has one. Thanks Lola!

I hope you have had a good weekend and I will try to post more soon.
