Family Time

Katy, Derrick, Little D, Rob, Heather, Kathryn, Dick, and Jackie came to visit this weekend (AKA Mike's side of the family). We had three babies, all under the age of 1, plus an almost 13 year old. It was a great time and we got some great pictures. Thanks to everyone for making the drive here to help with my time off situation. Heather and Katy will have more pictures than me. Our camera is crazy and selective! Here are some... or a lot... of my favorites.

and the moms

After everyone left on Tuesday, I had the rest of the day off work so Evan and I went to the pool with Christina and Cole. I don't have a water baby. He's not a fan.

He was more a fan of sleeping

and playing

See you all next post!

Sharing the day

I was born on Father's Day, Sunday, June 17, 1979 at 11:57 P.M. It has come that time once again for me to celebrate my birthday on Father's Day. I am 28 years old today and my 28 years have been filled with love, friendship, and everything I could have ever imagined my life to be, so far. Technically, since I was born so late at night, I get another 24 hours that runs into tomorrow for my birthday!

I will post baby pics another day this week as I have to get them from my mom's house. Here are some of the things that make my life worthwhile and some pics from my party last night.

Evan sporting his "I love Mommy" bib on Friday. Our festivities began then.

Evan was waiting on me at the front door on Friday as I came home from work

And here he is hiding the present that Evan and Mike got me
(It was 12 pieces of Rachael Ray cookware! Guess I really need to step up my cooking now.)

At my party on Saturday, here's one of the only shots of me with Evan. Jeremy got in on the picture too.

And as for the other reason that makes this day special....

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!

I wish everyone a very Happy Father's Day (especially in my family, Dick, Rob, Derrick, Arnold).

Thank you to my wonderful father for loving, supporting, and encouraging me to be the person I am. I am so lucky to have you in my life and I am so proud to be your daughter.

And to my wonderful husband, thank you for the gift of your love and for my Evan. There is nothing about you that I would ever change and I am so glad that I have you beside me everyday. I look forward to all of the years we have together. May this be the first of many father's days we will remember and you will share with Evan and any other children that God blesses us with in the next few years.

And to everyone else, family and friends (and this includes my blogger gals), thanks for the birthday wishes and thanks for your friendships! You all enrich my life and I count my blessings!

Happy 6 Months!

Evan is 6 months old today. Time really has flown by. Here's a blast from the past.

and back to the present
watching Sunday's race
and today, we finally let him have a turn at the computer. He was checking out his own blog.
Cheers!

We are so lucky that Evan blessed our lives on December 12, 2006. He is such a gift to us! Here's hoping your day was as good as ours!

It's not TB

That's good news, huh? For the last week or so all I can remember hearing about is the stupid TB guy from Atlanta, so just in case you heard about the same thing, I don't have it.

Four weeks after my horrendous cough started, I finally went to a doctor. My coworkers couldn't take my coughing up a lung anymore, and neither could I. I made the appointment for Thursday and it's a good thing I did. On Wednesday night, I went to see my original idol, Reba, at Chastain. The poor guy next to me got to listen to me cough every minute or so. It was unreal. He probably thought I had TB. The doctor even suspected it too, far back in his mind (in my imagination, because it was probably for pneumonia), because he had me get a chest x-ray. That was negative and I don't have a real diagnosis but it's either allergies, asthma, or bronchitis. Whatever it is, I'm on the road to recovery. Anyways, enough about me...

It is now Evan's turn to be sick. He had his first fever today, a few days short of his 6-month birthday. He's been cranky but gave us a few good shots today (the ones in the plaid overalls)

My mom, who is still in the Philippines, has requested more pictures of Evan. For that request, I have logged back onto the computer and blogger land and I give you Evan....

This is what we spend most of the time in the bouncer doing

We are sitting up now too!
and playing so hard, we pass out in strange positions

With Cole, in matching patterns

See you next week, Lola!
Love to all of our blogger friends. Hope you all have a great weekend!

A long Saturday

Saturday was the Northside Hospital Volunteer Picnic day at the zoo. Christina and Cole joined Evan and me for a nice overcast morning of smelling animal poo and having a good time. This is the only picture you will see in this entire post of an actual animal. I figured since we waited in line for 20 minutes and then we were herded like cattle to see this panda cub, Mei Lan, I should take one picture for prosperity. Too bad her sleeping self only gave us her rump to look at.

This was at the beginning of the morning. Evan didn't get his mid-morning nap and Aunt Christina was happy to lend a shoulder. Too bad the kid picking his nose got in the picture.

Cole tried out Evan's stroller anytime Evan vacated it

We also met up with Chris, Lindsay, and Karen during lunch. Chris decided to let Evan and Lindsay share some time in the stroller together. Evan proceeded to take Linds' barrett out and mess with her hair. It was good to see you all there and meet Karen!

After the zoo, Cole, Evan, and I went to Peachtree-Dekalb airport to attend an Air Show. Mike was working there showing off the fire trucks. Christina had some house cleaning to do so, for a short time today, I became a single mom to an almost 6 month old and almost 4 year old. Cole was great though and we had a good time.
Here's Cole checking out one of the private planes

Here's Evan checking out the cargo hatch on another plane. It was the perfect size for one baby!

Evan and Mike checking out the military plane. Yes, my son is sitting on a gun, because daddy thought it was cute and I do have to admit, they do look cute.

Evan, on top of a piece of a fire truck

Mike and Cole, on top of the haz-mat truck, looking for me and Evan. I thought this was cute so I wanted to post the picture

All smiles

Cole got to sit in the back of a ladder truck because he was with Mike. Two minutes after this picture, there was a line a mile long with other kids wanting to do the same thing.

And I leave you with my happy, smiling, baby boy at about 9:00 PM, just before his bath. This picture is especially for you, Mom. We miss you and know you are having a great time jet-setting in China and of course, the Philippines. We can't wait to see you and have you home. Evan is ready to go sit at the bar and share a margarita with you. We'll see you in 10 days. We love you!

We also hope everyone else is having a good weekend. We are exhausted and will be taking it easy tomorrow.
