Happy 3rd Anniversary!

Happy 3rd Anniversary, Mike. The past years that I have known and loved you have been the best years so far! I am so lucky to be with a very kind, genuine, and caring person. Without you, I wouldn't be half the person I am today. You are a great husband to me and wonderful father to Evan. Thank you for being such a special part of my life! I can't wait to see what the coming years bring us.

Here are pictures from our wedding day for all our friends and family. All photos courtesy of Duane Jones Photography (except the last two).

(I will only restate the obvious this one time... Time has flown. Kathryn has grown up and these pics were all pre-Evan, pre-Derrick, and pre-Laney.)

I had just stuffed something in my mouth, therefore the look!

And lastly, Mike, thank you again for my most wonderful present of all, our baby. Mostly sweet and occasionally not... I wouldn't trade our lives for anything.

Happy Anniversary!

My Little Daredevil

There has been absolutely no labor happening around here today, except for Mike who had to work. Evan and I met my friend Michelle at Doc Greens near Perimeter Mall, ate lunch, hit Discover Mills for some light shopping, and haven't done much else.

Here are pics from my little daredevil, this weekend.

He doesn't really sit in his bouncer much anymore so we were going to put it away. Evan had other ideas. He likes to climb on it and bounce.

The next two pics are for my brother-in-law, Derrick. We can dress in firefighter clothes for days!

And lastly for Lola, Evan is picking up on the open/close hand game you have taught him.

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day! Have a good, short week!

Self Portraits

I grabbed the camera this afternoon and took a shot at getting some self portraits of Evan and me. Amazingly, every time the red-eye lamp went on, so did Evan's smile. Here's a look at what we got...

And I threw in a few more pictures I took tonight because I just couldn't resist

With Daddy

And with Lola, just before bed (hence the crazy outfit)

Have a great holiday weekend!

Politics and Toys

This post is random as all get out so I hope you can follow me!

Our first two pictures are in protest to the baggy pants ordinance that Atlanta officials are considering. Seriously, do they not have anything better to do that police people's pants! I'd love for them to police these pants with a big stinky diaper in them.

and now for the toys....

Why not throw in a picture of Sidney sitting in the bumbo? Evan wasn't using it.

Evan did get some new toys though. I've been Craig's Listing for baby items again and found a girl in Winder that owns just about every Little Tikes toy ever made. She even had a Leap Frog table that I wanted for Evan. For $120, we got a Leap Frog Learning Table (for our house), Sesame Street Learning Table (for Mom's downstairs), Fisher Price Learning Table (for Mom's upstairs), tunnel slide, and castle swing along. I'm thrilled and so far Evan likes the new stuff too!

Sleep and the lack there of

We haven't been sleeping very much this week. Evan has pulled a night or two of waking up every two hours. We aren't sure exactly why but we are working through it. This is the reason I have nothing to post. I'm extremely tired. When I get a free minute and I'm not sleeping, I'm reading The No-Cry Sleep Solution by Elizabeth Pantley. No one ever tells you that when you have a baby not sleeping, how difficult it is to stay awake while reading a book about sleep.

In other news, I am doing two walks in October for causes near and dear to my heart. The first one is the Step Out to Fight Diabetes walk at Grant Park on October 6, 2007. I have been an insulin-dependent diabetic for just over 15 years now so Evan and I will be walking for a cure. I even fancied my page up a bit if you check it out!

The other walk Evan and I are doing is the Light the Night Walk for everyone that battles blood cancers. I work with adults with leukemia, lymphoma, myeloma, and other hematological disorders every day and the Leukemia/Lymphoma society provides all patients that apply with some monetary help and support. This walk will be fun because it will be in the early evening on October 13, 2007 at Centennial Olympic Park. All of the walkers will get a balloon with a glow stick for the walk.

If you can give, great and thank you in advance. If you cannot give, I completely understand. There are so many worthwhile causes out there to support. I hope to blog with happier news and pictures over the weekend! Have a good Friday!

Down on the farm

Saturday was Cole's birthday party. It was at Johnston Dairy Farm in Newborn, GA (AKA - middle of nowhere). It was a good time though.

When we arrived, the party had already started. It had just rained a little and it was very muggy. Here, Ethan and Cole are taking a break from running on the hay bales.

Evan gave the bales a try too

Most of the time, Evan just sat back, relaxed, and watched all the big kids play.

Cole and Jeremy hamming it up for the camera

It was the first time that Jing and Kayla had met Evan, so we took a picture

Inside the milking room, Bessie #534 was eyeing Mike.

Evan and me on the hay ride

We stopped while on the hay ride to feed the pregnant cows and the heffers (heffers are cows untouched by a bull if ya didn't know, because I sure didn't). There were about 100 of them with one male bull. Busy guy!

Evan and Mike looking at the heffers :)

As we pulled away, the ladies were still eating

And then there was cake. Happy birthday again, Cole, we had a great time at your party!

And then on Sunday, Evan thought it was way to hot to sit around so he jumped in the pool

with some wardrobe help

Hope you all had a great weekend! We sure did and wish it were longer.
